I started Portland Kitchen Guru after seeing the same problem over and over—people were putting in effort, but still struggling to eat well. Not because they didn’t care, but because their kitchens, routines, and systems weren’t set up to support them.
After decades of working in the food and fitness world, I noticed that most people don’t need more willpower or complicated meal plans. They need practical systems that make cooking feel less stressful and more manageable in real life.
My work in the mental health field also shapes the way I approach this. When a kitchen feels cluttered, chaotic, or overwhelming, everyday cooking becomes harder than it needs to be. Small changes in setup, organization, and routine can make a huge difference in reducing stress and helping people function more smoothly day to day.
I help reset kitchens—clearing clutter, organizing what you already have, and creating simple systems that actually work for your household.
So instead of guessing what to cook or feeling overwhelmed every time you open the fridge, you have a setup that helps you know what you have, what to make, and how to keep things sustainable week after week.
I also offer hands-on cooking lessons, meal prep, and meal planning support to help build confidence, practical skills, and healthier routines in the kitchen.

Please reach us at PortlandKitchenGuru@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We can adjust any recipe to your need, whether you prefer gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, or any other food preferences you or your friends and family might have.
Of course. Bring whoever you'd like! *If they are not a member of your household, a $25 charge per person will be added. It's also a way you could save money by inviting others and splitting the cost. Make a fun night of it! People enjoy inviting a group of friends to learn together, and best of all, enjoy eating a well cooked meal together.
That's what this is for! No skills are necessary other than an open mind and a willingness to learn! Everyone starts somewhere. You get a chance to learn skills that you will use for the rest of your life.
It's totally up to your preference. We will offer suggestions and potentially clean, organize, and rearrange things depending on what you feel is best. Sometimes people prefer us to come back again after the assemsents and initial session to build in shelves, hooks and other small attributes to the kitchen to make things more efficient and space saving. Options to purchase Rubbermaid bins to store non-essential kitchen items are available to help de-clutter and will be brought to the assessment.
